Welcome Producers from the Republic of Ireland!

We are excited to share that SALSA has officially expanded into the Republic of Ireland. This significant development allows us to extend our trusted food safety certification and support to more micro and small food and drink producers. It helps them grow confidently, meet buyer standards and access broader markets.

For nearly 20 years, SALSA has helped small UK producers achieve and maintain high food safety standards through a scheme built around affordability, practicality and relevance. Now, we’re delighted to bring that same approach to support Irish producers, many of whom are already exporting to the UK or considering doing so.

Chris Grimes, Managing Director, SALSA Technology Ltd, said:

“Having set up SALSA to serve a vibrant but often underserved community of small producers in the UK, I’m thrilled that we can now offer the same level of support to producers in Ireland. This is a natural step forward — and one we’ve been building toward for some time.”

Irish businesses joining SALSA will gain access to the same structured certification pathway as their UK counterparts, helping them ensure their products are safe and market ready.

Many UK retailers, wholesalers and food service operators already accept SALSA certification as part of their supplier approval process. With this expansion, those buyers can now confidently source from SALSA Approved Irish producers, simplifying cross-border supply chains while supporting smaller, innovative businesses.

This development also offers real benefits to regional food groups, specifiers and buyers looking to:

• Adopt a faster, more cost-effective supplier approval process

• Reduce reliance on multiple 1st party audits and lengthy self-assessments

• Support and onboard innovative Irish producers

• Strengthen assurance across cross-border supply chains
